I can agree that several of these films deserve “best of” mention.  Particularly the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, obviously those were three of the most amazing and financially successful movies of the past ten years - and maybe of all time.

But what I really see in this list is violence.  “The Departed”, “No Country for Old Men”, “There WIll Be Blood”, “History of Violence” and “Children of Men” - all extremely violent films.  It’s a fact that this is a violently entertained world.  Video games too - Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3, etc etc.

Where’s the peace and love?
